　　一、不管是新手還是老手的口譯員，在進行陪同口譯的項目之前，一定要認真準備，熟悉需要翻譯的文件內容，思考可能涉及的相關領域知識。因為準備不充分、翻譯不流暢是口譯員最大的失誤。

　　First, interpreters, both novice and veteran, must prepare carefully, be familiar with the contents of the documents to be translated, and reflect on the relevant field knowledge that may be involved before proceeding with the project of accompanying interpreters. 　　二、口譯員應該比客戶提前15-20分鐘到達，無論有何種情況都不應該遲到。如果遇到堵車或其他特殊情況耽誤，務必要給客戶打個電話解釋一下。

　　三、跟同聲傳譯不同，大部分陪同翻譯項目都是需要露面的，所以應該注意穿著，不能太隨便搭配，不能邋遢出場。作為陪同翻譯人員，需要跟隨在外賓的左右，所以最好穿正式的衣服。

　　四、陪同翻譯應該學會察言觀色。因為很多時候陪同翻譯要應付的不僅僅只是正式的談判場合。客戶既然雇傭你并支付一天的費用，肯定是希望你在生活的各個方面都給予幫助。比如：客戶看不懂菜譜、找不到洗手間、想要什么東西時，翻譯都應該主動上前詢問是否需要幫助。

　　五、因時間有結余或者中間有比較長的空閑時間的情況下，客戶私自要求譯員去周邊地區(qū)旅游及相關項目時，其實是非常危險的，能避免應盡量避免，因為一來這類項目不能保證付費，第二點也就是最重要的，譯員和客戶二者中任何一個人出現(xiàn)安全問題，誰也無法保證誰也無法負責。確實無法避免的情況之下，應該在出發(fā)之前和客戶說明相關情況，并找到第三方人員做證。

　　六、中國人一般都會認為“提錢傷感情”，而外國人則主張公事公辦。如果客戶堅持付費，一定要說好是一次性付費還是按天付費。如果遮遮掩掩不敢明說，吃虧的還是自己。

　　七、一般情況下，翻譯公司都會在任務結束后一個月內將費用打到賬戶上，所以除了事先說明是客戶當場付費，否則很少有在一周之內費用到賬的情況。

　　八、永遠不要拋開介紹人直接聯(lián)系客戶。就算介紹人允許你這樣做，你也應該不時匯報一下該項目的情況和進展，否則會給人留下一種“不懂事”或“忘恩負義”的不良印象。另外就是如果口譯項目是別人介紹的，收到錢后一定要通知介紹人一聲，介紹人不求你對他感恩戴德，但起碼應尊重人家的知情權，而且特別是因為中間出現(xiàn)任何問題，往往還需要介紹人出面幫你解決。
